I follow this author on Twitter, although I think from before she had her first book out. And despite being a Cardiff fan, she seems a good egg, so I felt a little bad that I won a copy of her book as opposed to buying it.
It’s a short story collection and filled with invention, melancholy and a fantastic ear for dialogue.

The stories are often small, snapshot moments of loss, rememberance and plans for the future. They’re filled with believable, relatable characters.
Other stories are more experimental, less grounded in reality but just as affecting. In places it gets downbeat, but never dull.
It’s a gloriously well written collection and I look forward to reading more of her work.
8/10.
Any thoughts? You know what to do. BETEO.
