Later this week I’m doing my latest challenge to raise money for charity. I was meant to be doing a 10k next month for Ty Hafan, but the event has been cancelled, and in all honesty I’m nowhere near fit enough to run 10k. So, when Ty Hafan announced they were doing a virtual challenge I signed up.
The event is a virtual equivalent of the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge, which involves climbing up three Welsh mountains:
- Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon- Wales’ highest peak situated in the Snowdonia national park
- Pen Y Fan- the highest peak in South Wales
- Cadair Idris- a peak in mid-Wales
It can be done in one day, but I’m aiming to do it over the course of three, between the 2nd and the 4th of July. The total distance has been worked out at around 33k, so I need to average 11k a day.
It’s doable, but will be a challenge, but I’m excited to get cracking on it and I’ll update how it goes next week.
If you’d like to donate to a good cause you can do so here, and the minimum donation is 50p, so if that’s all you can spare it all helps and will be gratefully received. Ty Hafan stand to lose out a lot in donations as events are cancelled, so every little bit helps.
Any thoughts? You know what to do. BETEO.
